Brett Woods – Partner & Business Advisor

Brett heads the day to day operation of the firm and with over 20 years of business experience has been instrumental in developing a team culture built on excellence.

Brett has many years of experience in chartered accounting, including 10 years of managing and growing his own accounting practice. Brett provides specialised taxation and management advice to business owners, adding value to their businesses through the correct structuring of their taxation affairs, financing and management strategies. Brett has a degree in Commerce (Accounting Major with the University of Wollongong), is a CA, a registered tax agent and an accredited loan writer.

Brett is passionate about his clients’ future and provides exceptional advice and direction with an understanding of the importance of all of his clients, both large and small.

Matthew Bell - Practice Manager & Business Advisor

Matt also has 20 years experience, with around 10 years as manager. Matt’s responsibilities include managing the accounting practice, developing and improving systems, staff training, recruitment and supervision, ensuring quality control, reviewing all financials and tax returns before they leave the office, providing clients with tax planning and business structure advice, assisting with marketing and building the practice, and assisting clients with various business-related services, as the need arises.

Matt has a certificate in Accounting (TAFE NSW), a degree in Commerce (Accounting Major with the University of Wollongong), is a Chartered Accountant, a registered tax agent, and also has a certificate in Marketing (TAFE NSW).

Matt believes that to be successful, businesses, no matter what their size, must be built on a foundation of great quality, service and systems and that nothing can be allowed to compromise this.

Linda Jagger - Senior Accountant - linda@wscaccountants.com.au

Linda returned to the firm in May 2008 after a break from accounting for a couple of years. Linda has significant experience in Business Services & Taxation having specialised in these areas for many years. She looks after a number of our small to medium sized clients and is also extremely knowledgeable in the area of self-managed superannuation funds.

Mike has been with the firm since October 2007 and specialises in personal tax and small business having several years of experience in this area. Having grown up in Cronulla, Mike has a large contact base in the Sutherland Shire area which has contributed significantly to firm growth since he joined our team. Mike is currently studying accounting by correspondence through Open Universities.

Ashley Bricknell - Intermediate Accountant - ashley@wscaccountants.com.au

Ashley has been with the firm since July 2006. In that time she has largely been responsible for preparing individual tax returns and PAYG Tax Variation Applications in which she has developed a high level of skill. More recently she has also been responsible for preparing financial statements for a number of our small business clients. Ashley also has a comprehensive knowledge of MYOB including Sales, Purchases, Payroll and Internet Banking. Ashley has just completed her 4th year at the University of Western Sydney where she is studying accounting part-time.

Katerina Tsapos - Trainee Accountant - katerina@wscaccountants.com.au

Katerina started with the firm in February 2009.  Katerina studied accounting at Gymea TAFE for 12 months and  is to commence a Commerce Degree at University of Western Sydney part-time in 2010. Katerina will be responsible for the preparation of individual tax returns, business activity statements and PAYG Tax Variation Applications.

Administration Team

Kathie Williamson - Admin Manager & Personal Assistant - kathie@wscaccountants.com.au

Kathie is our Admin Manager and has been working with Brett for over 10 years. She has a good knowledge of our client base and, amongst her diverse range, skills include assisting clients with MYOB and other software queries, being responsible for setting up and maintaining Corporate Registers and Trust Deeds, and assisting the WSC Team on a variety of issues whenever the need arises.

Lisa Carr - Receptionist & Admin Assistant - lisa@wscaccountants.com.au

Lisa works part-time in our Admin section and has been working at the firm since July 2004. Lisa can assist clients with common requests such as emailing or faxing copies of tax returns, financials, or Trust deeds, obtaining tax file numbers or checking on the status of your tax assessment. She has two sons and a daughter and loves to spend quality time with them. Lisa also loves yoga and would like to get back on the tennis court one day.

Jenny also works part-time in our Admin section and has been working at the firm since June 2008. Her background pre-kids was working as a legal secretary so she is pretty quick at typing letters. Jen can also assist clients with information. Jenny has two sons who play rugby league in the winter and attend nippers in the summer. When she is not socialising with friends and family she loves nothing better than to spend some quiet time reading a good book.
